Through Arirang's true face and modern interpretation of Arirang, which has been with the Korean people, you can feel the impression and beauty that you have never felt before.
The original name of Jeongseon Arirang is Arari, and it is a folk song that has been passed down throughout Gangwon-do and nearby areas.
This song is a work song that was sung during the cut-off, picking vegetables, fielding, samsamgi, planting, and rice paddies, and it is also a play song enjoyed by many people in the mountainous area.
In 1971, Arari was designated as Gangwon-do Intangible Cultural Property No. 1, and the song name was also registered as Jeongseon Arirang.
The Jeongseon Arirang Festival is centered on events and performances related to Jeongseon Arirang, and side events include A-POP dance competitions, Arirang Singing Contest, musical performance "Arirang," Jeongseon County Arirang Art Troupe performances, Arirang Parade, Traditional Culture Experience Exhibition, and various fringe performances.
